What is a used magnaflux equipment and where can you find it?

Magnets are everywhere; stuck to our fridges, used in electric motors, built into the hard disks on our computers, and scientists have studied them for centuries…. Before getting to any technical or industrial details about used magnaflux equipment, you should start by knowing some general things.

Few people know that a magnet can fire an energy burst several hundred times stronger than its base strength, again and again…All materials experience magnetism, some more strongly than others. Permanent magnets, made from materials such as iron, experience the strongest effects, known as ferromagnetism. This is the only form of magnetism strong enough to be felt by people

….and by animals:

Some animals, such as pigeons, bees, and salmon, can detect the Earth’s magnetic field and use it to navigate. Scientists aren’t sure how they do this, but these creatures seem to have magnetic material in their bodies that acts like a compass.

Now, what about used magnaflux equipment?

First of all, it has nothing to do with time travel…Used Magnaflux  is a quirky term given to a very important aspect in manufacturing product: magnetic particle testing, that allows testing for magnetism in materials, without destroying them.

This type of non destructive testing is used in steel factories and radiology labs with so called “magnaflux equipment” and can usually be completed in less than eight hours. The process can detect flaws, such as inclusions and cracks, just under the surface of the element being tested.

This testing equipment can save companies a pretty penny, by detecting flaws and defects early in the manufacturing process. Probably not all of us are well aware of how important this testing is to our lives, but wouldn’t you feel safer knowing, for instance, that materials in the automobile you’re driving had been tested with this innovative magnetic particle testing? Believe me, you would!
