Examine previously inaccessible areas The AP-400 UltraWand's thin 1" diameter, 6" long, portable UV inspection probe enables you to quickly detect critical flaws in hard-to-see places without sacrificing efficiency and thoroughness. Since it reaches most areas without disassembly, the UltraWand is perfect for checking tight spots like jet engine turbine blades, small-diameter pipes or machinery, and other difficult-to-reach places. Originally developed to facilitate inspecting turbine blades for ingested bird remains, the UltraWand has been found to be ideal for most applications where conventional, bulky lamps prove too cumbersome.

Lightweight, durable, battery-operated unit goes anywhere. The AP-400 Kit weighs only 6 1/4 pounds with batteries. It contains a 10-foot power cord and a 10-foot extension cord, making it even easier to inspect those out-of-the-way places. The UltraWand's 4-watt UV probe provides high UV-A intensity, with a typical peak 365nm irradiance of 7,600 µW/cm² at the light source and over 1,800 µW/cm² at one inch. It also produces long-lasting power, running for over 40 hours on ordinary "D" cell batteries. The probes rugged, anodized-aluminum cylinder is built to withstand the rigors of tough fieldwork.

Totally self-contained unit includes everything needed. It's supplied with a durable polyethylene carrying case, an adjustable inspection mirror, a 10-foot power cord, a 10-foot extension cord and a spare 4-watt tube.
